Reports To: Director of Library Services
Location: Henderson, NV
The Access & Systems Librarian provides leadership for the library’s systems and access services technology through user-centered design thinking, efficient workflow creation, and data-informed decision making.
Serve as system administrator for the library’s integrated library system (ILS); including troubleshooting issues, overseeing updates, maintaining vendor relations, patron account management, resolving data discrepancies, providing reports, and overseeing library staff training
Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of other library systems including the institutional repository, interlibrary loan software, library guides, and the library website
Promote Roseman University research through management and growth of the institutional repository system
Coordinate interlibrary loan services and provide support for online systems
Maintain and troubleshoot extended access equipment and technology such as RFID gates and self-checkout machines
Provide statistics, ILS reports, and other assessments of library services and resources as assigned
Contribute to other technology projects within the library to improve critical library services and workflow
Collaborate with the Head of Electronic Resources and Collection Development on management of the library authentication system and discovery search
Provide library instruction, research consultations, and collection development support in assigned discipline
Maintain knowledge of academic health science librarianship and related fields through reading professional literature and attending funded professional development activities and continuing education opportunities
Regular attendance is an essential function of the job
Must be reliable and timely with the expectation of 40 hours per week
May be required to perform other duties as assigned
Master’s degree in Library Science or Library & Information Science from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited program within six months after start date
Experience managing integrated library systems and/or circulation functions
Library reference experience or documented relevant course work
Academic library work experience preferred (even at paraprofessional level)
Working knowledge of current library systems (Koha or other ILS) and technologies
Demonstrated technical skills sufficient to perform the requirements of the job
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a member of the team
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
General understanding of scholarly communication, copyright, and information literacy
Experience managing digital information systems, interlibrary loans, and/or other online systems preferred
Instruction or staff training experience preferred
