In this exhibition from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), we explore how communities bonded together by illness spread awareness about AIDS through personal narrative and drawing as a communication strategy during a time when public health informaiton was lacking.
Before the Internet, posters served as highly adaptable, durable, cost effective, and efficient tools in sharing public health messages.
40 years after the crisis began, AIDS is not over.
The National Library of Medicine produced this exhibition and companion website.
Celebrate the arrival of the exhibition with us in Henderson, Rm 312 (Student Government Room) or on Zoom. Let us know you're coming-- register today!
