Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Services at Roseman University


Articles, books, and other published works not owned or subscribed to by the University Library may be requested through interlibrary loan (ILL). These materials are to be used for the purpose of private study, scholarship, or research.

Roseman University Library ILL privileges are available to current enrolled students, faculty (including adjuncts), staff, preceptors and alumni. Residents who are not also either current Roseman students or employees do not have ILL privileges. Please read the full Library ILL Policy on the University Policies webpage under Library Policies.

Log in to Clio


  • Roseman students and employees select "Roseman" from the "Choose how to sign in" menu and use your standard Roseman credentials to sign in
  • Preceptors select "Preceptors" from the "Choose how to sign in" menu and enter your username and password
  • Alumni please email ILL@roseman.edu to get an account or submit requests 
  • If you previously set up an account you will be taken to the Welcome page where you can place a new request or view previous requests
  • If you do not have an account yet, follow the directions under Create Your Account

Roseman current students and employees

The first time you login you will be taken to a screen to complete your ILL account

  • Fill out all the fields, selecting from drop down menus where available
  • Enter your Roseman email account
  • Select your affiliation with the university (student, faculty, etc.)
  • Select your academic college/program or Other for non-academic units
  • Select your campus
  • After creating your account you will receive a welcome email

Preceptors

The first time you login you will be taken to a screen to complete your ILL account

  • Fill out all the fields, selecting from drop down menus where available
  • Enter your Roseman email account
  • Select your affiliation with the university (student, faculty, etc.)
  • Select your academic college/program or Other for non-academic units
  • Select your campus
  • After creating your account you will receive a welcome email

Alumni

  • Send an email to ILL staff to request an account (send to ILL@roseman.edu)
  • Include your full name, affiliation (alumni), academic program, and campus
  • List your preferred username and preferred email address
  • A password will be assigned to you
  • After your account has been created you will receive a welcome email with your login information

Place an ILL Request


To create a new ILL request, first log into your account.

Go to the Request drop down menu at the top of the page and select the type of request, filling out the form as follows:

  • New Book Request:
    • Fill out any required fields and as much other information you can
    • Click on the Check Holdings button at the bottom of the form to search Discovery in case we already have the item you are requesting
    • Hit the Submit button
  • New Article Request:
    • Read the Copyright Restrictions and mark the box after the statement
    • Fill out any required fields and as much other information you can
    • Click on the Check Holdings button at the bottom of the form to search Discovery in case we already have the item you are requesting
    • Hit the Submit button
  • New Citation Request:
    • Read the Copyright Restrictions and mark the box after the statement
    • Fill out any required fields and upload your Citation File
    • Hit the Submit button

After submitting a new request you’ll receive an email letting you know your request was successfully submitted (does not apply to citation files). If the library staff have any questions about your request, they will notify you via email.

ILL Processing Timeline


ILL requests are processed Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Most article requests will be filled within 1-7 business days.

Books and other library materials can take 7-21 business days. Due dates for borrowed books are set by the lending library.

Requestors will be notified via email how to obtain their requested items. Articles can be retrieved online following the directions in the email.  Books and other physical materials can be picked up at the library service desk. Alumni and Preceptors must use borrowed books and other physical materials onsite.

Notice Concerning Copyright Restrictions

Works borrowed through interlibrary loan may be protected under U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S. Code), which governs reproduction, distribution, public display, and certain other uses of protected works. Uses may be allowed with permission from the rights holder, or if the copyright on the work has expired, or if the use is “fair use,” or if the use falls within another exemption.

As a user of a requested work, you are responsible for determining lawful uses.
