We're Hiring! Service Desk Manager

As the Henderson Library Service Desk Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Library Services in the dynamic daily management of our campus library and the Roadrunner Outfitter.

You'll lead a passionate team at the library service desk, overseeing circulation and technology lending, while ensuring exceptional service for all patrons. Additionally, you’ll manage the daily operations of the Roadrunner Outfitter, Roseman University’s vibrant spirit store. The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday from 8am - 7pm (4 10-hour shifts) with every Friday off work.

Location: Henderson, NV

Job Summary

As the Service Desk Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Library Services in the dynamic daily management of our campus library and the Roadrunner Outfitter.

You'll lead a passionate team at the library service desk, overseeing circulation and technology lending, while ensuring exceptional service for all patrons. Additionally, you’ll manage the daily operations of the Roadrunner Outfitter, Roseman University’s vibrant spirit store. Bring your leadership skills and passion for service to help create an inspiring environment for our community!

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all the functions of the library service desk, including opening and closing the library, circulating materials via the integrated library system, assisting users in locating and using resources, troubleshooting equipment issues, shelf maintenance, keeping statistics, and monitoring the library space
  • Hire, train, and supervise library student workers and library assistants
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Roadrunner Outfitter including interacting with customers, processing orders, taking inventory, and restocking merchandise.• Coordinate service desk coverage during all operating hours, and manage the service
    desk calendar
  • Maintain leisure reading collection, reserves collection, and circulating technology
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to the library service desk, including communicating changes and training other staff
  • Resolve library borrower issues, including determining when a situation warrants making an exception to established protocols and when replacement fees are warranted for damaged or lost materials
  • Create and maintain library displays, signs, and other visual communication projects
  • Contribute to the planning and organization of library programs and outreach events in-person and online
  • Serve as the person in charge when the Director or Assistant Director of Library Services is not on campus

Requirements

  • High school diploma, 3 years of library work experience required, or any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Management experience preferred
