Disclaimer: As we discuss these sensitive subjects, you may feel triggered while viewing the video presentations or participating in discussions and simulations. We may not be able to predict personal triggers, and we may not be able to warn you. Please know you are welcome to step away at anytime if triggered. Conversely, you may find staying and mindfully observing the emotions that arise helpful. Only you know what you need to do to feel safe.
We also strongly encourage anyone needing to step away due to triggers to seek support from a trained therapist. Addressing personal trauma and reconciling these struggles may prepare you to be a more robust patient advocate.
Whether you're facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, you can call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
You can also access the student resources available to you through your program.
Students should visit each of the following pages and view them in their entirety. Read the information available, watch the presentations, and review the resources available.
Students should also review Mrs. Anderson's case for the simulation on November 17.
On November 17, be sure to come prepared to ask questions and participate in a Q&A session with the speakers. Students will also participate in the simulation of Mrs. Anderson's Case, the directions for which can be found here.
If you have any questions or concerns please bring them up with your IPE Coordinator.
