Disclaimer: As we discuss these sensitive subjects, you may feel triggered while viewing the video presentations or participating in discussions and simulations. We may not be able to predict personal triggers, and we may not be able to warn you. Please know you are welcome to step away at anytime if triggered. Conversely, you may find staying and mindfully observing the emotions that arise helpful. Only you know what you need to do to feel safe.
We also strongly encourage anyone needing to step away due to triggers to seek support from a trained therapist. Addressing personal trauma and reconciling these struggles may prepare you to be a more robust patient advocate.
Whether you're facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, you can call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.
You can also access the student resources available to you through your program.
Students, you will be participating in a simulation regarding a patent Ms. Anderson. You will have 30 minutes to prepare for the simulation as a simulation team. This will happen at the event before you go to your simulation.
Each simulation team will be assigned to a simulation room either at Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine (where the panel is held) or at Rocky Mountain University. They are directly across the street from each other. You will have a debrief after your simulation at the same campus you are at for your simulation session.
If you would like to get an overview of the simulation schedule and history on your patient, you can do so below.
