APA and AMA References
PubMed will provide article citations in AMA and APA format or allow you to download the citation to import into an external citation manager.
If you use the automatic citations from PubMed, the library highly recommends that you check the citation before you copy and paste it into your document. Sometimes computers get it wrong!
There are two places to find the citation feature: on the search results page and on the article page.
Citations from the Search Results Page
On the search results page, look left of the article information for the Cite button.
Citations from the Article Page
When you click on an article title, you can find the Cite button on the right hand side of the screen.
Check Your Format
However you find the button, always check your format before copying. Choose from AMA, APA, MLA, or NLM.
